All You Want To Know About Kismet Canine Training

Kismet means fate, and at Kismet Canine Training, we believe some bonds are simply meant to be. Our work is not just about teaching dogs what to do. It is about giving owners the tools, knowledge, and confidence to build the relationship they’ve always wanted with their dog. We focus on creating clarity where there has been confusion, structure where there has been chaos, and communication that helps both dog and human feel understood.

Many of the families we help come to us feeling overwhelmed by reactivity, aggression, anxiety, or behavior that has slowly taken over their daily life. Others simply want a dog who listens, settles, and fits peacefully into their home. Wherever you are starting, our training is designed to empower you. We teach you a practical system that has helped hundreds of owners rebuild trust, reduce stress, and finally feel in control of their dog’s behavior.

Kismet Canine Training was founded by Ana Maria Thorne, a balanced dog trainer serving families across the DFW area including Euless, Colleyville, Bedford, Grapevine, Hurst, Southlake, and Fort Worth. With over seven years of experience working with a wide range of temperaments and behavior concerns, Ana has guided countless owners through everything from simple manners to serious issues like aggression and reactivity. Her goal is simple: to support you through a clear, compassionate, step-by-step process that brings stability back into your home and allows you to genuinely enjoy your dog again.

Our process begins with a one-hour in-home evaluation. This visit allows us to understand your dog’s behavior, history, routines, and any underlying factors that may be contributing to their challenges. It is also an opportunity for you to share your concerns openly and receive immediate guidance. This consultation is normally $75, but for now, we are offering it at no cost so families can access help when they need it most. Call today to schedule your evaluation and take the first step toward a calmer, more predictable life with your dog.

Meet Your Trainer Ana Maria

Hi, I’m Ana Maria

I specialize in helping dogs and their families overcome behavior that has started to feel overwhelming. Many of the clients I work with are dealing with reactivity, fear-based behaviors, aggression, or patterns that make daily life unpredictable and stressful. Others come to me simply because they want a well-mannered, well-structured companion. No matter where you are starting, my approach is compassionate, realistic, and designed to make the training process feel manageable.

I received my foundational education at the Tom Rose School for Professional Dog Trainers in 2018, where I gained experience in obedience, sport dog work, and behavior modification. Since then, I have continued learning through mentorship, hands-on work, and continuing education through organizations such as the International Association of Canine Professionals. My ongoing commitment to growth allows me to take on complex behavior cases while still supporting dogs who simply need clearer structure and communication.
Much of my perspective comes from years of fostering and rehabilitating rescue dogs. Working with dogs who arrived scared, shut down, or reactive taught me how powerful structure, patience, and proper handling can be. Today, I share my home with two driven working dogs, Santos the Belgian Malinois and Jericho the German Shepherd, who remind me every day what strong-minded dogs are capable of with the right guidance.
My training style blends structure, empathy, and clear communication. I believe training should feel achievable, not intimidating, and that every family deserves a stable, reliable path toward better behavior. Whether you are navigating complex problems or simply want a calmer home, I’m here to help you move forward with confidence.
